Exploring the 'hood: The beach at Discovery Park
A few weekends ago, we decided to head out for an afternoon walk to the beach in Discovery Park. Wow! Beautiful! I'll let the pictures tell the story!

Happy 3rd Birthday Cooper!!!
Nothing like the entire family being sick to throw everything off balance... We had an awful virus that took us out of commission one by one. Brett missed an entire week of work, first taking care of me, then sick himself during the latter part of the week. Not fun. We are so happy to be healthy again!
To top it off, it was Cooper's 3rd Birthday...poor buddy had a 103 fever...so we delayed his birthday to the weekend, though he was still not back to himself... This was also the first of the boys' birthdays we haven't had a big party with all of our friends....super sad for me...I only hope we made it fun for Cooper. It's not that I think all birthdays should be a production...but the boys love their special parties and I love planning and hosting them! Hopefully we have friends soon so we can start having parties again :-) Enough whining... So originally, I planned to take them to the Aquarium for 'Toddler Day' in the morning go out to lunch in downtown with daddy, and have a family sized Octopus Birthday Party... this was on Tuesday, but like I said we were all sick. So...last minute change as of Friday night...Saturday morning we went to the Center for Flight, which was a great museum filled with planes, rockets, etc. Totally missed the kid area- parent fail- But they had a good time. The boys have been obsessed with rockets and space travel for the past few months. They pretend they are blasting off to the moon and to the International Space Station daily. A common pre-bedtime activity with daddy is building a rocket using a rocket simulation program on the computer. This needless to say has led to Brett buying materials to build a small rocket... Anywho, after naps, we walked to Serendipity, the boys' favorite restaurant in the Village (they have a play area). After that we headed home for a Rocket Cake! Aunt Lori, Uncle Chris and Buddha joined us too!
