I really wish I had the presence of mind to stop and write down some of the things these kiddos say. Some things are just priceless. I have a place to write them down, but by the time I have a moment, my memory fails me. I'm full of excuses...

Here's a random one I found funny this morning:
"Pink is kind of like purple, but a different color." - Ev
I'll try to write some better ones down and post them. Cooper comes up with some doosies.

Here's one that requires an acompaning story. Last Friday, we
headed to Golden Gardens Park/Beach. Evan insisted we go to the
playground, we've never been, but he caught a glimpse previously. I
said no problem, so we went to the playground first. Cooper wanted to
go to the sand. So after a bit, I suggested we go to the creek. Evan
didn't want to and dragged his feet a bit. We go there, he's eyes lit
up and he said, " Oh! Okay! This IS pretty nice." Someone didn't trust
me... the area that I took them too is a creek that flows down into the
sound , there are tree logs and some rocks and the kids love playing in
it- making dams and ponds, generally just make the water do fun things
and of course digging and getting wet!
This weekend:
The
back story- Ev evidently asked Brett if he could turn on the
sprinkler. He said yes. Ev asked me, evidently, I said no (though, I
don't recall this...).
Evan came back to Brett, very concerned and said, " Um, there's been a miscommunication."
While Oliver can't carry on a verbal conversation, he's still wowing us with his awesome communication! We're not sure what it is...our perspective, situation, his personality, or if he's a genius (kidding)... this kid is great at communicating! He does very well understanding us too! He can follow directions, put the toy in the basket, go get your cup from the couch, etc. I can tell him I think he needs a new diaper, and ask where do we get a diaper change and he'll lead me to his bedroom to the changing pad that's now on the floor and sometimes even lay down for me! A huge difference from his first year of screaming during all diaper changes! That's not to say we don't have those frustrating times for all involved when we can't figure it out... they happen...
Oliver's Current Verbal Vocabulary:
Dada
Mama
Da (dog)
Tickle tickle tickle
clap clap clap
dis (this)
dat (that)
nana (banana)
mah (more)
Sign Language/Non verbal Vocabulary:
more
milk
please
hi
bye
and pointing of course
He will also pull you by the finger to lead you to where he wants you.
Look at this studious cuttie! He's in one of his favorite reading spots.
Sorry, that turned into a baby brag. Don't worry, our genius baby still eats dirt...
Okay, as I was looking for the pictures above, I came across these, that seemed slightly on topic. So here are a couple more pictures...
