Why "Farmhouse Fix"

Anyone who knows me, knows I feel the need to explain or give a preface.  This blog is no exception.  I feel the need to explain the title "Farmhouse Fix" as it was inspired by multiple things.  First and most obvious, our farmhouse!  We moved into our farmhouse fixer upper in August 2009.  We've been working on it since the day we signed the contract and well, there's no end in sight!  Second, our sweet 22 month old, loves "fixing" things.  Needless to say he's seen us with tools and paint brushes pretty regularly.  He loves his tools and "helping" us.  If something is broken or out of batteries, "daddy fix it."  (Including the light on the play train at the library.)

So I'm thinking this blog will simply be a journal of our life for our memories and for any friends and family who want to see some pictures.  I'll be attempting to chronicle our projects, our growing babies and whatever else we get into!  (This will be a bit of a challenge, considering we have a nearly 22 month old, an 11 week old and have a habit of trying to do way too much :-) )

Evan helping daddy fix our pantry doors.

Fun Evan tidbit: Evan can identify pretty much all the basic tools- pliers, hammer, screwdriver, drill, table saw, miter saw, air compressor, etc.  The kid likes his tools!  One of my goals for this week is to sew him a tool belt.  Cooper isn't napping very well this week...so we'll see if it happens :-)

Happy Day All!
